OhioBlue is an unknown quantity at this point
Default HD and Blu Ray

So tech experts what's the realistic prognosis with High-Definition technology? I'm relatively clueless, but I've heard that by some date in time TVs will all have to be HD capable? Is that correct? And if so, how is that actually going to work?

Secondly, I just read a bit on this whole new Blu Ray thing. Sounds interesting, and would seem to be a good fit for the HD upconversion everyone's going to have to do in the future. However, with any new technology economics play a huge role--I know the Blu-Ray developers have high hopes that it will completely replace DVD, but how realistic is that?

Really I'm just concerned that I finally got my DVD collection going to where I'm satisfied with it, and I don't want to have to get a bunch of blu-ray and HD capable stuff in the next 5 years to completely replace it.
