As you can imagine, there is weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth over on CB.

I always liked Steve. Good for him.
Ummm...sounds to me like he's just putting up with his wife's view on this one. There's no evidence in this article that he is for Prop 8. Also, his wife is the one saying she is against Prop 8 in Testimony Meeting, not Steve.

Takes guts to go along with your wife, and go along with all the other fools in the Bay Area? LOL Guys would be standing up to your wife, and sustaining our prophets.

If that makes you feel better, keep telling yourself that.

It certainly is a vote for teaching kids about homo-marriage in school.

You would have loved to live in the pre 60's. Back then you had the backing of the church that the man was number 1 and the woman was number 2. Now it is just a veiled thing but not openly taught.

Exactly, which is why the gutsy thing for Steve to do would be to stand for what's right, not to stand for what will get him laid.

So there is only one "right" thing? Simplistic.

If Prop 8 passes, teachers can still teach kids about gay marriage. Sorry to spoil your party. The teacher may be incorrect by not using the proper term (civil union v gay marriage), but kids can still be taught that gays can be parents, adopt, raise families, etc. Prop 8 will have zero bearing on that issue.

Also, not even sure how much marriage is taught at all in any school.

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

There is in this case. That is, if you sustain the men in Salt Lake as prophets. Which I assume you do. Don't you?

By the way you talk about gays, it appears you do not sustain the prophets.

Why don't you educate yourself a little before posting on this subject, and especially before voting? Marriage MUST be taught in any school that teaches sex ed! Allow me to educate you:

Education Code section 51933 makes it clear that schools that teach "comprehensive sex education" have to teach, "respect for marriage and committed relationships". This is something no school district can get around.

It is the choice of school districts whether or not they teach sex education. This is why the Anti- Proposition 8 campaign and Jack O'Connell say there is no requirement to teach about marriage.

What Jack O'Connell knows but doesn't say is that 96% of school districts teach comprehensive sex education. Those numbers are from O'Connell's California Department of Education. 96% must teach respect for marriage.

Of course some teacher can still tell their students about gay relationships, but they would not be OBLIGATED to under the law like they would if Prop 8 doesn't pass.
