Could financial differences arise from cultural and economic differences?

Differences can be good but expectations and communication of those expectations are the key to successful relationships.

Generally speaking, should Latinon youth in the church not dance with white youth in the church? Date?

Distinguish between your use of "financial" and "economic" as they frequently are synonymous.

Sure, but not from the color of one's skin.

Isn't this the affirmative action argument you Republicans use all the time? That we should look at cultural/economic background and specifically NOT skin color. I absolutely agree. Skin color is completely irrelevant in the marriage decision.

I'm curious, what test did you all use to determine if your date/fiance was financially compatible?

I absolutely observed my wife's financial habits before we got married. I am really thankful that we have similar ideas about finances. I have friends who don't and they have had serious struggles.

An intellectual acknowledgment that "cultural" difference can lead to difficulties in understanding, but racial or ethnic differences will not. The color of one's skin plays no roll in difficulties in marriage but cultural expectations may play a roll.
And you think those two items are mutually exclusive?

What about light-skinned Puerto Ricans with black Dominicans? They're both Latino.
