So Texas Children's was $94 million in the black in one year. In a decade, at that pace, they are close to 1 BILLION in the black.

I was right. They can afford to build a new wing.

Most hospitals have a huge war chest of cash they are sitting on. They use that for capital expenditures. A well run hospital will have a operating margin of around 2%

Net Income figures in outside investments and donations. Operating Margin figures just what your company is in business to do

non-profit hospitals are required to donate a certain percentage of healthcare gratis, from what I understand.
