The party has responded quite well to my ideas, thank you. I don't feel disenfranchized like the blacks do.

Is there any study on who votes more reliably for their party, blacks or Mormons?

I've continued to think Hillary would be easier to beat in a general election, regardless of the Republican candidate.

There is no such thing as long term benefits in politics.

Funny thing about you liberals. You folks think your shit doesn't stink.

I'd say that the Democrat party has been worse for blacks than the Republican party has been for Mormons. Republicans tell Mormons that they can survive if they put their minds to it. Dems tell blacks that they can't do anything for themselves and need the government.

That must explain your passionate support of McCain. And I'm sure blacks appreciate you telling them how they feel.

Why? Are you preparing to argue that it is ok for one of those groups to be monolithic, just so long as they are less monolithic than the other group? If so, let me save you the time and tell you that is a dumb argument.

What's more, monolithic voting is an indicator that a group will vote for their party "no matter what," but it is hardly conclusive. It could just as well be that the party has produced a nominee acceptable to that bloc in each election. Whereas with Tex, you know he will vote Republican no matter what.

I suppose even you have to be right on occasion.

Republicans who stayed home when Carter was elected disagree.

No, that is what you hear. It most certainly isn't what is said.

Had those Republicans voted, perhaps it would have been Ford instead of Carter.

It's amusing you keep attacking me, as if I by myself am a voting bloc. It's very flattering really, but it misses the point: the Democrats have abused the black voting population and they (inexplicably) continue to come back for more. There may be no more underappreciated constituency in your party.

The Democrat party would poop its pants if anything more than 20% of the black population voted for another party, not to mention lose some key local contests.

I think you're living in denial.

Of course it would have been Ford instead of Carter. That is the point. It makes a Reagan presidency almost unfathomable as Ford's VP would have been the presumptive nominee.

Perhaps.

Still, I vote no matter what. I feel it's my duty.
