Default This painting just sold for $140 million

My daughter didn't throw a bunch of paint on a canvas, but Jackson Pollock did.

BTW, if true, the $140 million tag would be the highest known in history.

Its very valuable because the companies that make carpet padding have to pay royalties to the artist for every square yard.

I already told you that Monet was a lawyer ... and thank goodness he gave up law to paint!

Just one thought as an arteest on this subject. I don't know whether the painting itself is worth $140 million. However you've got to understand that it's not the paint on board or canvas the investor is buying; it's the ideas, abstract thought, concept, creative expression, as well as the reputation of the artist behind the painting

Think of it this way. If you could buy the slam dunk -not the athlete who performs the slam dunk, the ball, or even a team of players but rather the orginal actual idea of the slam dunk how much would you pay for it? Furthermore what if you were buying Micheal Jordan's idea of the slam dunk?

Gosh, in actuality every time you buy a ticket to an NBA game you are doing just that .... suckers
