Default California withholding tax refunds

Individuals and business that overpaid their 2008 taxes are "out of luck," as the state will not pay their refunds.

Surprise! The published income tax rates are not being honored, and without warning- ZAP- you're paying more!

What a great way to stimulate the economy. I think I'll take my non-refund and buy a new car.

Ouch. I heard on npr a few months back that the governator's solution to the budget crisis was going to lower all state employee's salaries to the minimum wage. Luckily the state treasurer said hell no.

Good work on recalling Gray Davis for that guy.
