RFK at BYU
With all the news surrounding Vice-President Cheney speaking at the BYU Commencement, I thought this was an interesting read. It's the text of RFK's campaign speech he gave at BYU in 1968, only a few months before his assasination. His opening line was great:
"I had a very nice conversation with Dr. Wilkinson and I promised him that all Democrats would be off the campus by sundown." http://content.lib.utah.edu/cdm4/doc...OW=1006&REC=10 |

You know I am not fond of Richard Cheney. But regardless of how I feel about him it is a coup to get a sitting VP for your commencement, if only for the publicity when he says something inflammatory. Anyone who can't see that is a Ute.
It would be nice if he could grow a sense of humor while he was there like RFK. Don't be such a sourpuss Dick. |

Seriously, Dick. Even Al Gore seems to have found a sense of humor. I don't know if he bought one second-hand at a garage sale or what, but it's way better than the old Al.
