Default Cheesiest song ever?

OK, folks. New category. What is your nomination for the cheesiest song ever?

My vote:

"Turn on Your Heart-Light" by Neil Diamond. Came out just after the E.T. movie in an absolutely shameless attempt to make a few bucks by piggy-backing on the popularity of the movie. (the inexplicable popularity, IMO)

Just the thought of that song gives me a fit of the dry heaves.

There are so many worthy candidates here. Here are a couple of good nominees:

1) "Stroke Me" by Billy Squire. The fact that Billy took this song seriously is enough to put it in the cheesy hall of fame. Then factor in that he rocked this song in a pink button up dress shirt. I think we have a contender.

2) Fat bottom girls by Queen. The song is pretty good until Freddy Mercury inexplicably and with all sincerity shouts the line "Get on your bikes and ride!!!!"

It wasn't entirely inexplicable. THe original album came with a large poster of nude women riding bicycles. Very salacious. ALso, it was more than a little innuendo laden, IMO.

Hey I liked that one song back then in junior high. It may be cheesey, but I got my first slow dance out of it.

A few nominees:

First, just as it provided an unintentionally gay scene, the movies Footloose brings us "Let's Hear It For The Boy" by whoever it was that sang it.

Another would be Eddie Murphy's attempt at a music career with his song "My Girl Likes To Party All The Time" or whatever it was called.

However, IMO, nothing comes close to "Convoy" by C. W. McCall. It's so cheesy that you just have to love it.

Anything by Michael Bolton where his head doesn't explode. If his head explodes, it becomes really cool.

Default cheesy

I swear I did not even see that Il Padrino had posted about Eddie Murphy when I typed that. Wow. The sad part is I still sing it quite a bit. You know, to get the mood right.
