I had a home teaching companion at BYU, briefly, whom I found out later had apostasized and become a polygamist.

He was very opinionated, and strong willed. Otherwise, didn't really stand out. I was a bit suprised to hear it.

Besides my distant, distant ancestors, that is my closest brush with polygamy.

There were polygamists' kids in my elementary school when I was a youngster. Nice solid kids from old line polygamist families. We were nice to them. One kid was pretty neat.

Also, with the alimony and child support payments I make and five kids who are still under age, including two babies (2 yrs. & 3 mos.), over two marriages, and a still very pissed ex, sometimes I feel like I'm a polygamist. Truly I wouldn't envy those guys. They have their hands full.
