How far are you willing to trust the majority? For example, if one of the states in the bible belt decided to ban Mormonism, would you support it? I am a big proponent of state's rights, but I think the the framers of the Constitution were careful to protect us from the majority. I am strongly against mob rule. Don't be too quick to cut one of the branches of the government out. The courts are needed to keep the balance.

I understand what you're saying, but I don't believe that the judicial system was put in place to change policy. Did the Founding Fathers see the courts being used to overturn the results of the voting public?

Yes, when the vote was in a red state, and the judge is Ivy league trained.

Yes, the "I know what's best" exception.

Imagine the burden of an Ivy league trained judge. He has to , through his superior intelligence and wisdom, buck the entire system, because he knows what is best for the entire country.

This is one of the times that I am grateful I went to Marist. Nothing is expected of me and I am able to fulfill that.
