Hate is a term of art in this context that means wanting to deny liberty to a minority group that is such becuase of an immutable characteristic, or believing such group is deviant or subhuman. I'm not doing violence to the word's meaning. It is hate, at bottom, that drives such positions.

Look, Levin admitted it. LDS is opposed to gay marriage because it doesn't want society to legitimize being gay as something like being Hispanic. And at bottom this is why gays want it. It's hate that drives the LDS position.
