Has anybody ever attended a daytime talk show taping? I had a buddy attend a Jenny Jones taping a few years ago and it sounded hilarious. I'd love to heckle out of control teens and watch their reformation as they attend an abbreviated boot camp. Alas, I don't think I'll ever get the opportunity.

I haven't, but it would be a hoot to do as you mentioned.

I think it would be fun to heckle Oprah, but losing the use of my legs just wouldn't be worth it.

In SoCal, it is not entirely uncommon for high schools to attend TV tapings as part of class fundraisers. Our senior class attending the taping of two shows....one was a Dick Clarke special. We all received t shirts. Another we atended was a short lived sit com called Just the 10 of Us...or something to that effect.

In both instances, it was pretty fun. They have comedians in house to warm up the audience in between takes and during set changes. The downside is that you are there for 3 or 4 hours for them to film the 30 minute episode. It can get tedious.

During college, being obsessed with John Waters, we attended a taping of The Ricki Lake Show while road tripping back east. This was an entirely different experience. While not vulgar, a la Jerry Springer, it definitely was a more urban crowd. Audience members were coached on questions to ask during set changes. The crowd was more rowdy, but the show really wasn't that popular, at least at that point in time, so it wasn't some epic event. Ricki Lake was cool and came out and talked to everyone.

The episode we attended was about women who were overweight but didn't think they were overweight (technically, I think that was most episodes). The most memorable thing about that taping was a women in our audience who stood up for her turn on the mic. Addressing one of the guests, she said, "Face it, you're a bubble butt, two by four, cant get through the kitchen door."

We all were howling in amazement.

This year when we went down for the UCLA game we tried to get tickets to the Ellen Degeneres show, my wife loves that show, but she was taping in New York those 4 days.

Like TripletDaddy said growing up in SoCal we used to attend tapings as part of fundraisers. In fact the youth in our ward would attend to raise money for girls camp and scout camp.

I've been to Funniest Home Videos back in the Bob Saggat days. I also have been to a few game shows including Win, Lose, or Draw and the Jay Leno Show a few times.

One of my boys from HS attended a taping of Jerry Springer. I saw it on tv. He made a comment about how the man who was being cheated on wasn't man enough for his woman and that he could teach him a few things. It almost started a ruckus. He grabbed the mic away from Jerry and Jerry just walked away rubbing his head like he had a headache.

Coincidentally, I have two close friends who have both won the grand showcase on the Price is Right. The odds of that have to be pretty rare.

I was on the kids game show Fun House when I was in 4th grade. We didn't make it into the Fun House though because my partner answered that the center of a hurricane was the mouth. I'm still bitter.
