I think it's the actual guy in the photo. Note the flowing white beard.

I used to be MesaCougar.

I figured after away from Mesa for 3.5 years it was high time to change it. I'm now RockyBalboa on CB as well.

That's it? I thought you would have been TacoBurrito or somebody really inflamatory.

What was if Brigham Young said about the offended? Something like "Only a fool would offend somebody, but only a greater fool allows himself to become offended."

lol...me too, but apparently if you've used the term troll a few times on the other site and have a conservative point of view on things, then on this site you're viewed as someone who can't think for themselves...i.e..just following the masses and that also gets you excluded from the finer things on this site.

That's been my experience thus far.

come on mesa its 1 step forward 2 steps back with you....

you calling me troll a couple of times and having a conservative point of view is not the reason people are 'upset' with your possible activity here.

but you already knew that before you posted your comment. so either....

a. you are making a backhanded comment because you cant help yourself....
b. you are making a joke and people dont get your jokes because they are used to the mesa-im obtuse-coug....

either way i dont think ive seen anyone here who has been offended by you on either site. annoyed is the more appropriate term.

I'm not exactly high on the annoy/ignore scale over on Cougarboard. Just by those who have a liberal mindset, which is fine.

We disagree and that's fine.

Mesa:

Just FYI, I'm mostly against your participation here for this reason:

Your arguments seem to me to generally be of the team-player variety and don't bear many hallmarks of objectivity, research, or appeals to fact. This, to me, is consistent with the type of personality that believes that because one's family believes a certain way, one's co-workers believe a certain way, and one's friends believe a certain way, believing anything else must therefore be wrong and there's no further proof needed.

I find this way of thinking provincial, unenlightening, irritating, and tedious.

I speak for *no one* here other than myself, but the reason why I like this community (whereas CB is often painful for me) is that the average intelligence here seems markedly higher. When people say something, it's usually from the point of view of trying to gather opinions or assert ideas based on given evidences. It's not a bunch of flag-wavers who want to engage in tit-for-tat You're Stupid Because You Don't Agree With Me (No I'm Not!) Are So (Nuh-Uh!) Yes You Are (No Way) Yes Way -style conversations that frequently erupt elsewhere, especially in environments where people feel little need to resort to objective fact.

Once this site starts becoming popular with the middle-of-the-bellcurve Mormons who enjoy CB, the kind of people who are LDS (or Republicans or BYU fans or whatever) because it's never occurred to them that it's possible to be anything else, I'm not going to have much fun here. So anything I can do to delay that occasion seems to be in my best interests.

Best of luck.

Default Rocky and Fuz

you both add something, and obviously you're not cut out to be friends. Fine, but I don't believe you necessarily need to loathe each other as well.

Some of the comments from an otherwise disinterested observer is some of the comments from both sides sound petty, a little bit akin to a henhouse.
