Your post is offensive for multiple reasons, including the reference to my "claim" as having served as a bishop. I was thankful and humbled to be asked to serve, and I did so for several years to the best of my ability, such as it was. Even though you deserve a decidedly different response, I'll answer your questions honestly and sincerely: I would have read the First Presidency's letter as is, including the parts about tolerance and accepting whatever level of participation each member felt was appropriate. I would not have expressed my doubts or concerns to the ward in any meeting, nor would I have contradicted in private anything I said in public.

Had they been presented by a thoughtful person genuinely interested in discussion, your questions would be worthy of discussion. But your palpable self-satisfaction and condescension over the years, with never a hint of self-awareness or self-doubt, make you a very unpleasant person to deal with on the boards. Thus, with that, exUte, I'm through with you. Until you can (a) post without sounding consistently like an intolerant jerk, and (b) desist in your intentionally obnoxious use of the title line for part of your message, I have no interest in conversing with you.
