I'm sure there are plenty of BYU wives that wouldn't hesitate to leave for that reason.
Fair, "should" is the more appropriate term.

I have a feeling that BYU wives are into some freaky stuff. They have all been recently unleashed, so they are more likely to engage in homemade vids, pics, telescopes, etc...

Slightly off topic, but what's the consensus definition of "porn addiction?" To put it another way, what behaviors would one exhibit if one were "addicted" to porn?

Hard to make a call with the limited facts, but it sounds like we all concur that there is no way that she is divorcing her husband solely because he went Onan the Barbarian once or twice.
I don't really know all the details. I just know of the situation.

Anyone remember the cb thread where the wife or fiancee (can't remember) decided to end/not go through with the marriage because she found out the husband had gone to Hooters for his bachelor party? I think that was a real story.

I actually have a friend and that's where we took him for his Bachelor Party about 10 years ago.

His fiance had a coronary and threatened to call off the wedding. They ended up getting married, but to say he's been subservient to her since the day they said "I do" is a major understatement.

You should seek a counselor so that he may help overcome your situation. Counselors won't refer to "addiction," but refer to "use", "misuse", "abuse" and "dependency". You will have to evaluate whether your use constitutes abuse or dependency. Let us know if counseling helps.

Why is "use" in there? "Use" does not equal addiction, misuse, abuse or dependency.

Ok, I'll come right out and say it again. I do not believe most so called cases of porn addiction are in fact addiction. Sounds too much to me like the catch-all Mormon divorce excuse. Like irreconcilable differences or some such.

Hooters opened a place near our home a couple of years ago, and I suggested we dine there for our Monday FHE dinner. Not only did the missus not object, she endorsed the idea, as Dr. Laura had, apparently, that very day endorsed the chain as being pretty good and certainly no racier than a lot of chain restaurants. Suddenly, the place lost its allure and I've never crossed the threshold.

I imagine most "uses" do not clinically qualify. In a clinical sense, "use" means looked at it with no harm to "user".

Misuse means harm felt but use eliminated. Both use and misuse usually result no lasting harm.

Abuse means one uses experiences harm but continues.

Dependency means abuse but one tries to extricate oneself from use and fails to extricate.

It is better understood in terms of substances but can be transferred in terms of activities and habits.

So I agree.

What complicates matters for Mormons is the cultural guilt associated with viewing pornography, so any "use" is considered harmful, so our diagnoses are faulty in a clinical sense.

Clinicians feel free to correct my misstatements. Mine was but a lay person's efforts to express it.

In Vegas, Hooters is considered family fare.

Have the missus let you come to Vegas, and I can show you a true Gentleman's Club. Tell her we're going to Hooters, the real Hooters.
