Just answer the questions.

Well, since you asked so nicely.

In what context would #1 happen? Maybe my kids' schools are stange, but the teachers don't spend a lot of time talking about what is right and proper in a marriage. If my kids came home and said something like "Teacher said fudge-packers can get married, just like those of us who practice strict missionary position intercourse", I would probably respond with something profound like "Yeah, Daddy's OK with that".

On #2, I would be OK with them going, but only if they brought signs of upside down American flags that said "God hates fags" on them. "God hates fudge-packers" would also be acceptable.

Read the article man. It was the PARENTS that came up with the idea not the teacher or the school.

We went on the same field trips every year during elementary school......a few museums, maybe a Marineland or Disneyland trip, a fire station here and there. One time we even went to the FBI building in LA.

If anything I am offended that we never went to a lesbian wedding.

This is about the worst anti-gay marriage argument out there: "But what am I supposed to tell my kids if they see gay people showing affection or getting married?"

My answer: "Tell them whatever the hell you want. They're your kids. But if you don't want them knowing about the existence of gay people you should probably consider moving to Iran or an FLDS compound. And even that may not work."

Who's idea it was is irrelevant. The school's interim director had to approve it, man. I guess some of you need everything spelled out for you.

First of all, I would argue it's inappropriate for a class to take a "field trip" to see ANY wedding, gay, straight, polygamist, whatever.

Secondly, if not for gay marriages being allowed, this "field trip" would never occurred, and SIX year old kids would not have been exposed to this issue.

Yeah, that's a great use of school funds, right?

I will tell them whatever the hell I want, because I am their father, and I am the one that should be addressing such issues with them. Not their 1st grade teacher, or any other public school official. What is so difficult for you people to understand about this? Holy crap...

I will be very curious to learn why you don't homeschool.
