Default When is worse to travel?

Christmas Eve day?
Christmas Eve night?
Christmas day?

Thoughts??

I realize they are all bad times... I'm just curious what people's experiences have been. Generally, I find that early Christmas day is the best.

Christmas Day always easy to fly.
Christmas Eve.
Then Christmas Eve day.

Just my observations.

It would depend on the purpose of your traveling. For me, anytime is good, because I travel for vacation. I don't travel to see anyone. If someone wants to visit me, they can come to my house.

Are you traveling by car or air? Last week I read an article in USA Today that stated Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day were the two slowest air travel days of the year.

Anytime on Christmas Eve sucks. Christmas day usually isn't bad, except for the fact that you're traveling on Christmas. The day after Christmas is also pretty bad.

Last year we flew home from Utah on Christmas afternoon. It was not bad at all. Tickets were several hundred dollars cheaper too. We were still able to do Christmas morning with the family, so I didn't feel like we missed much.

I wasn't planning on traveling this year, but if you'll kindly let me know where your avatar is spending the holidays, I'm soooo there.
