Default Regretting career decisions

I chose to stay in Utah with my MBA and not go after big bucks in consulting and investment banking. Things are going pretty well with my family and life is good, but one thing keeps sticking in my craw and it's been bothering me more and more.

I'm not sure I'm going to be able to teach my children how to order at a fancy restaurant. Are there books or videos I can share with my kids to help them out in that area?

About 30 years ago I made a decision not to take a job with Intel and return to Utah from California. About 5 years ago I did some mental masturbation and figured out the options I left on the table would be worth about 18 million right now.

I don't give it much thought though about anything that happened in the past. Who knows, I could have ended up in a car wreck. With the wild lifestyle in Cal. I could have ended up divorced, oh I guess I did do that in Utah.

Sounds like Guy Kawasaki passing up the CEO job when Yahoo! was a startup.

think of sean connery... he was offered the job as Gadalf in the LOTR and something like 15% of revenues. He turned it down because he had never heard of the lord of the rings.

He turned down something like 300 million
