Default In my opinion the chevy volt is going to change car industry

In fact, I predict this car will make GM the#1 car company again and be extremely profitable.

Dang, that is a sharp looking car. I'd even consider driving it and I hate the environment.

Wait, so you plug the car in? How is that any better for the environment? Don't we get electricity from burning coal in most places?

But we don't buy coal from Iran and Saudi Arabia and Venezuela.

True. You buy it from my brother in Wyoming. He says most of the coal they produce goes to Texas.

I would be very interested in a plug-in if one ever comes out that is also a decent car. I don't really drive that much so the 40 miles per day would be sufficient most days. That car looks a little too ricey in the picture, but a normal sedan couldn't be too far behind.

Yes, but you get two offsetting positives. One, that has been mentioned, is that, as the energy industry changes to cleaner methods, you can take advantage without changing the technology in the car.

Second, even if coal is not the cleanest fuel, you can take advantages of economies of scale. Since a power plant is creating energy for millions of users, it can be much more efficient than an automobile.

Also, even if coal has a lot of environmental problems, it much "cleaner" politically than oil.

Yes. And we can ramp up more nuclear, wind, solar, etc.

Religion rises inevitably from our apprehension of our own death. To give meaning to meaninglessness is the endless quest of all religion. When death becomes the center of our consciousness, then religion authentically begins. Of all religions that I know, the one that most vehemently and persuasively defies and denies the reality of death is the original Mormonism of the Prophet, Seer and Revelator, Joseph Smith.
