Dan Coats
With a logjam for the Bengals at tight end, Coats switched to fullback before training camp this summer. With only a week into camp, he's already taken the number one spot.
http://www.bengals.com/depth_chart/index.asp Any other news on former BYU players? Will Tahi stick with the Vikings? It appears that Watkins is tearing it up with the Raiders. |

At the risk of being called a name dropper, Dan was at my family's cabin a couple of years ago. He knew my BIL and came up with him, but I can't remember exactly what the connection between those two was. Anyway, he played with all the kids and was just generally as friendly as anyone could be. As a result, I temporarily suspended my sworn oath to hope for bad things to happen to anyone that plays for the Bengals/Browns/Ravens axis of evil.
I hope Dan has a long and prosperous NFL career, but preferably with a team that may actually win a meaningful game now and then. |

Good for Coates. Hopefully this will work out for him.
