Default Dan Coats

With a logjam for the Bengals at tight end, Coats switched to fullback before training camp this summer. With only a week into camp, he's already taken the number one spot.

Any other news on former BYU players? Will Tahi stick with the Vikings? It appears that Watkins is tearing it up with the Raiders.

At the risk of being called a name dropper, Dan was at my family's cabin a couple of years ago. He knew my BIL and came up with him, but I can't remember exactly what the connection between those two was. Anyway, he played with all the kids and was just generally as friendly as anyone could be. As a result, I temporarily suspended my sworn oath to hope for bad things to happen to anyone that plays for the Bengals/Browns/Ravens axis of evil.

I hope Dan has a long and prosperous NFL career, but preferably with a team that may actually win a meaningful game now and then.

Good for Coates. Hopefully this will work out for him.

Of the seniors that were on the 2006 team I have always said that Coats would have the best NFL career out of all of them.

Yep I remember being pretty lonely in the DC would be a better pro than Harline camp.
