the JoePa support continues to be fierce:
http://bwi.rivals.com/forum.asp?sid=890&fid=36&style=2 Penn State fans absolutely don't get it. What is wrong with people in Pennsylvania? They have the worst human beings in the world for fans. |

Denial.
I read a post by a sociology professor's friend. He stated Paterno is no master genius orchestrating the cover up, but that Paterno is more of a Mr. Magoo type, clueless and kept out of the loop. He barely does anything when he shows up in the booth. The administration is perhaps more corrupt than we realize and Sandusky must have had some goods on the administrative corruption to keep in contact with administration.

Didn't Lavell barely do anything in the last years of his career? Not that he couldn't, just didn't have any interest to. Because Paterno didn't do much actual coaching doesn't mean he wasn't actively involved in accumulating and protecting power.
Remember when Paterno said he stayed in coaching so that football wouldn't be left to the Sherrills and the Switzers? Wowzers. |

What amazes me is the lack of social conscience today. Everybody, everybody is in it for himself.
There is no sense of standing up to anybody and nobody has any courage. In a better world, the universities would refuse to finish the season to make a mockery of Penn State and Penn State would refuse to go to any bowl game. But yet, we live in a century of thieves, crooks and cowards, all of them. There is no moral courage, or integrity. We live the worst of times morally and the best of times technologically.

If Joe Paterno had an ounce of goodness in him, and he was Japanese, he would have already committed suicide.
Instead he starts a pro-Penn State chant on his front lawn. The question now is whether he will die as a free citizen or die in prison. |

Just listened to Franco Harris on TV expressing his fury at the Penn State Board of Trustees for firing Joe Paterno.
Franco probably has brain damage from all the hits. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. |

Wow, Mark May in this video, so angry that he has shake voice.
http://espn.go.com/espn/commentary/s...otball-culture I agree that Penn State, at the very least, ought to cancel the rest of their games this season. That whole university is a disgrace. This is one of the few Penn State people I respect in this mess. Someone actually protesting AGAINST abuse and coverup. http://www.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/e...56338/33193897 |

I think what's on most of our minds is the dilemma in wishing a meteor to strike Beaver Stadium on Saturday. Should we or should we not feel bad for the Bo Pelini afterward?
Seriously, they should cancel. Tom Osborne telling Nebraska fans not to wear red for their own safety. This is getting ridiculous. |

Joe Posnaski walks back some of his alleged angry SUPPORT of Joe Paterno after Dead Spin (and maybe others) posted alleged quotes (tweeted) from the Penn State Joe Paterno media class where he was lecturing.
Yes, they have a course that is all about Joe Paterno at Penn State. Kind of like how BYU has religion classes. And yes, ol' Joe is writing a book about Paterno, and probably thought he had a pretty good product almost done, until this all blew up. http://joeposnanski.si.com/2011/11/1...r_a5&eref=sihp Paterno had to go, no doubt about it. This is clear to everyone who is not a Penn State fan, and hopefully becoming clear to Penn State fans as well. |
