A game against Idaho St would be brutal, but I'm finding it difficult to criticize BYU on this point until I can see a list of the teams out there looking to fill a game on their schedule next year and which of those teams is willing to come to Provo.

Am I off base on this? For all I know, Idaho St is literally the ONLY option.

Supposedly on Wrubell's latest blog he said that expect the announcement to come soon within days....maybe even hours, and to expect to be an FBS team like Bronco said it would be.

He also said that BYU tried to get D-I teams to schedule for the first game.

Idaho State has a TBA on their opening date......my guess is they'll jump on the bus ride from Pocatello and that's who it'll be.

It's not just finding someone with an opening, it's finding someone with an opening on opening day.

I don't have the problem with the one game if all other options were explored.

I DO have a problem with Bronco's newly stated philosophy. Which is that he plans on seeking out these 1aa games for future schedules even when there are better options available. He calls it balance but it is actually just the opposite. It is planned schedule imbalance and the wussification of BYU football. It is hard to be a fan of a wuss.

Idaho State's first game is already scheduled.

I wish some non-homer person like Harmon or PK said they sincerely think BYU tried to get D1 teams. Wrubbell is the voice of the BYU spin machine if needed.

Seems weird/dangerous heading into Spring without a full schedule for the Fall. At some point, it is playing with fire even if we schedule a AA team.
per SL Tribune, we'll find out Friday, the 11th.

Here's the link. Sounds like it might be North Dakota State. Seriously.

YOhio, this is totally off the topic, but what is your infatuation with Gene Hackman?
