Why are BYU and Utah even close
when it comes to prognostications? BYU always out recruits Utah. And BYU has better coaches than Utah. Why do most believe the team records will be close during the season and may even come down to the last game of the season. With BYU's superiority, it shouldn't even be close.
Am I missing something? |

It is not limited to football, but you are correct.

It doesn't matter how bad Utah sucks (like a 27-point shut-out loss to UNLV) as long as they keep within 1 TD of Big Brother at the end of the year. That's a successful season as far as their fans and their media is concerned.

My point is that both programs recruit well and have good coaches. Not that big of a difference. |

Well, let's see. BYU definitely had the upper hand in conference play the last two years, but last year, the Utes were a few injuries from making the conference title much tougher for the Y to get. And in case you're completely stupid, it took the Y two miracle plays in the last two rivalry games to pull out a win.
With Utah at full strength, it will give BYU everything it wants and more in a run for the title. It really isn't that difficult to figure out if you'd get rid of your blue goggles with the "I hate the Utes" clip on shades to keep the sun out.

No no, little Zoot, you're completely right, Whittingham's 9 losses the last 2 years and Broncos 4 are completely equal to each other. That makes a lot of sense. If you're a complete moron that is. Congrats on that tie for 3rd-place last year though- Whitt's best conference finish in 3 seasons!
