It's definitely not Oakland. I was in that temple district for four years and it's a ghost town.

I want to say Boise or Mesa. I would have thought LA would be up there and Idaho Falls as well.

Because of the announcement of 2 new temples in Phoenix, my guess is Mesa.

Given the population base that the DC temple serves, you would think it is the busiest non-Utah temple, but it probably isn't. Casual observation is that it has a good utilization rate, but I seriously doubt it's even close to the Mesa temple.

I heard that too. The person who told me was living in DC and he said it was to accommodate the crazy work hours of the people who work in DC. I guess he was just pulling my leg. The hours are 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., unless they hold secret sessions for people like Bob Bennett or something.

I voted for Nauvoo becuase it is kind of a novelty temple that members make special trips to go to...and when they're there, they probably attend multiple times.
As for DC, it is not as busy as one would think, but they do get to hold "special" stake meetings on the 7th floor, and those are pretty cool from what I hear. I also believe that the DC temple has the location that it does because the LDS church was bidding against the Russian Embassy for that land, and the government didn't want the Russians to get it, so they stuck the Russians in a hole in downtown D.C. and the temple sits on the horizon of 495 for all to see. |
