Cheryl Preston (BYU Law Prof--this one's for you 3D) and her husband returned Monday from a trip to Cairo where she spoke to a conference on regulating porn on the internet. While she was thus engaged, and while taking a break, presumably, from watching porn on the internet, her husband Stan saw QOS which was released earlier to international audiences. He liked it, but said it wasn't as good as Casino Royale. A movie can be worse than CR, but still be very good, so I'm definitely in.

And speaking of suits... For me, Johnny Carson during the '70s and early '80s achieved the summum bonum in dressy apparel. He usually displayed good taste, and his suits and sport coats fit superbly. But maybe it was simply the contrast with Doc Severinson (whose tailor was obviously on a two decades-long acid trip) and Tommy Newsom (who had the appearance of an unmade bed).

Tom Ford is doing all the QOS stuff, but if you recall, he was already wearing that suit at the end of CR...right at the very end when he introduces himself, so i think it could be a Brioni, just for consistency.

How the heck can anyone tell? It looks just like a suit. A coat that goes over a shirt with a tie. I have a few in my closet. They also go over my shirt with a tie. I can't possibly imagine caring about anything less than brands of suits.

First of all, thank you for updating me on Cheryl's whereabouts. She must have found the GPS chip I placed in her purse and I haven't seen anybody in her house for a week or two (admittedly, my binoculars are low intensity).

Second, speaking of 70s suits, what are the odds of a resurgence in elbow patches? That is one fashion trend that I simply never understood, not even in the context of "that was cool at the time." I would be really interested in seeing those babies come back, even for a season.

I just gave you negative feedback for your post.

But to answer your question, I dont really "care" about the brand, as much as I simply enjoy the clothes.

His suits are tailored, so they fit him extremely well and they look sharp. Since I wear suits to Church, sometimes work, etc....it interests me. As with any hobby, the more you pursue it, the more refined your eye becomes.

I think that half this board would be up in arms if i said, "a bike is a bike!" Or if I told SeattleUte, "a bran supplement is a bran supplement!"

We can only hope. I have, in truth, safeguarded a sport coat with said patches despite Mrs. PAC's occasional threats to give it to Goodwill or D.I. If nothing else, I'm saving some Central American gentlemen from becoming a laughingstock at his first job interview.

And I wish I had a baby blue leisure suit, flowered shirt with a collar so wide it resembles the wingspan of a 747, platform shoes and, of course, white belt and shoes. This was an outfit worn by tourists in SF back in the '70s and is known as The Full Cleveland.
