This is a good post. I'm all for being an ignorant pest if it helps something get done. I would suggest adding Tom Holmoe and Fred Skousen to the list.

I totally agree. One rule, though: whatever you do, do NOT use a form letter/email. Write something (semi-)original. Otherwise they'll feel justified in turning a deaf ear.
