Default SLC is dangerous for bikers...

according to David Zabriskie. He had an article in the latest Bicycling magazine and talks a little about how he's been hit three times in Utah and not once anywhere else. Now I'm sure most of his miles are in the SLC area but he feels strongly enough about it that he is starting some cause in Utah to make people aware of the problem.

The little I've ridden in Utah I've got to agree with him. Why is this?

Default My experience

It goes without saying that Z rides a lot more miles than I do, but I really don't have many complaints. When I do have problems, it is usually the A-holes driving bisk diesle trucks that think it's funney to see how close they can get without actually touching you.

I havent' ridden in SLC regulalry for 20 years, but back in the day I thought it was better in California than in Utah. People in Utah seemed to look at bikes as a nuisance and as somethign that belonged on the sidewalk.

People in Utah look at bikes as a nuisance and think they belong on the sidewalk only because bikes are a nuisance and belong on the sidewalk.

I'm very conscious of bike riders. How can you not pay attention to something you hate?

A mullah AND a bike hater. It's all starting to make sense.

Do you, by the way, have fantasies involving your mother ....

When I was younger and more foolish and less aware of how many people will kill you for less, I used to slap the fenders of cars driven by people with that attitude and, if sometimes my hand had something in it, something sharp, oh well. I figured if someone thinks they can cut me off and risk my life thern I can retaliate. Now, of course, I realize how foolish it is to do something like this until the car is parked and the owner is far away.

The last bit is a joke.

The owner could be quite close, just not looking.

Nice to know we have a couple in our midst.

And btw, K Dog drives a Benz, wouldn't you figure. I would have figured him for a BMW type of guy with that attitude.

That was a rhetorical question, right Arch?
