MikeWaters is an unknown quantity at this point
Default releases from callings

YM 2nd counselor was just released, after just 3 or 4 months, to be a counselor in the EQ.

He didn't exactly have the nobility of a John McCain: "I will not accept a release until my brother Mike, who has languished for more than 2 and a half years is released first."

I was picking up a kid for the campout, out of my ward boundaries in a very bad neighborhood, at night. I was "confronted" in his front yard by his brother wearing an oversized sports-team jacket. I heard 4 gun shots go off probably 150 yards from me. And I'm thinking "this is nuts."

God bless the good people of the world. I hope you win.

John McCain didn't need to accept a release. He could've walked out of the prison any day he wanted to.

Or so I'm led to believe by your analogy.
