Yes, I agree. And that is why I think there is a germ of wisdom in the PC practice of not judging culture. First of all culture is amorphous. Second, to the extent we as individuals use it to make sense out of our experiences, our definition of culture loses value based upon experiential effects. With these thoughts in mind I am hesitant to blame an ethnic culture for much of anything, especially if there are other plausible alternatives.
