Default incredible shrinking ward

My ward is shrinking.

We live in an area where very few LDS buy homes. And extremely few of them are families with children.

We have apartment dwellers that are moving in and out quite frequently.

We've been in the ward long enough that we too are starting to be a bit jaded about the people in apartments. "They'll be gone before you know them."

We have 10 young men total, and about 4 young women. I think we have about 20 kids in primary.

It makes ward cohesion difficult. It's kind of like a zoning problem. When boundaries are made, there are winners and losers in the numbers game. We are the losers.

I've started to think that I might be better off framing my ward as a kind of large branch. Small and cozy. Except we still need to work on the cozy part.

This ward is a real mystery to me. It wasn't what I expected moving out to the 'burbs.
