Congratulations President Obama.
Though I'm skeptical of your agenda, I'm willing to give you a chance. Hopefully you're closer to your general election persona than your primary persona.
I was pretty pissy earlier this evening. The thought of an Obama presidency had left me less than optimistic about the future of our country. Then I read a post over on that other board that broke me out of my funk. A post so glorious that I couldn't help but think that maybe we're going to be ok: http://www.cougarboard.com/noframes/...tml?id=4194694 Thanks Lifi, you pulled me back from the edge.

That's funny. There is nothing like a trip through CB or a conversation with my wife's uncle that makes me realize that I'm not batshit crazy.

The one thing that tempers this for me is the awareness that millions of Americans are not only disappointed tonight, many are genuinely terrified for the future of the nation. That makes me really sad.
Anyhow, thanks for putting up with my political spamming. I tried to be halfway reasonable, but it's hard to hide your bias when you've been working for Obama for two years. Now I just hope Obama's not the abysmal failure my dad says he's going to be (my dad is downright Archaean in his expectations of the coming Obamanation), because I'd sure hate to have to put up with four years of "I told you so." |

Well, I won't congratulate him, but I'll just say that despite this not being the outcome I wanted, we here in the US still have the best way to select our officials and I wouldn't want it decided any other way.

I didn't vote for him, and I'm bitterly disappointed that he won. I honestly do not trust him.
Having said that, Barack Obama is my President now. I'll pray for him and support him when I can, which I hope will be often (but I really doubt it). God Bless America. |

Barry is not my president. He and I are enemies.
But there's nothing I can do about it, except perhaps move to Costa Rica.

Perhaps so.
If it was McCain who had won, I can honestly say that I wouldn't be gloating. For all my talk, I pretty much ignore the politicians until the next time. I just like to stir the pot more than anything else.
