If you're in your home and feel your life may be threatened, perhaps it's justifiable to shoot first. Why give a potential intruder a chance to kill you?

there is nothing that says you can't shoot first to protect yourself. It's quite another thing to shoot through a locked door at someone you can't see.

That's why I posted that perhaps it was justifiable.
If someone wants to kick in my front door, he'd best be ready to face a 9mm, but then, I'd wait for him to actually kick it in.
