The party has been split for a while already. Look at ideological bedfellow like evangelists and mormons going at each others throats.

Morally guided? Think about it. Who is morally guided the mormons or the evangelists. They don't seem to get along.

Both parties are "morally guided." One of them manages it without trying to legislate religion.

It's pretty funny that the "morally guided" party is the one that so adamantly refuses to care for the poor, and that is so excited about killing Arabs (and Persians, apparently).

Wow, I am now on a huge guilt trip. You make so much sense with your post. Too think I have misjudged you in the past and thought you mainly had your head up your butt.

C'mon woot, Repubs aren't legislating relgion and you should know that. They are legislating moral beliefs based on religious beliefs. Dems do the same thing, although their moral beliefs may or may not be religiously based. In the end, what is the difference? It's one set of morality versus another.

Religion rises inevitably from our apprehension of our own death. To give meaning to meaninglessness is the endless quest of all religion. When death becomes the center of our consciousness, then religion authentically begins. Of all religions that I know, the one that most vehemently and persuasively defies and denies the reality of death is the original Mormonism of the Prophet, Seer and Revelator, Joseph Smith.

What a revelation! The GOP is about power and $? No! And the Democrats aren't? Every party is about power and $.

McCain represents the best chance? Based on what? Polls that mean nothing at this point?

Of course they're endorsing McCain now, because he's the media annointed front-runner, and they want jobs in his administration.

Romney is getting plenty of endorsements, Rick Santorum being one of the latest:

"In a few short days, Republicans from across this country will decide more than their party's nominee. They will decide the very future of our party and the conservative coalition that Ronald Reagan built. Conservatives can no longer afford to stand on the sidelines in this election, and Governor Romney is the candidate who will stand up for the conservative principles that we hold dear," Santorum said in a statement. "Governor Romney has a deep understanding of the important issues confronting our country today, and he is the clear conservative candidate that can go into the general election with a united Republican party."

don't hold your breath on Romney. It's all but over. The system is designed around the concept of voters jumping on a bandwagon and Florida decided McCain is the bandwagon. McCain will win most of the votes on Tuesday because the American primary voters are sheep who want to feel good about voting for the winner. McCain has had a huge jump in the polls in many of the Feb 5th states since Florida. It's all about thinking you're voting for the winner for lots of people.

I don't disagree with anything you say here.

I was responding the Waters' specific points.
