What percent of active male members end up
being a Bishop? Let me qualify that. Lifelong active, returned missionary, college graduate.
Also among this pool, what percent serve as either Bishop or Bishopric counselors? |

Another question...what percent never end up as high priests?
We have a couple of relatively elderly elders in my ward. But it seems like 95% of the time, lifelong members end up in the HP quorum. Do they have a procedure for ordaining someone to HP even if they are not called to a position that requires HP status? |

Don't you have to be a high priest to perform certain temple ordinances?

What I have seen in several wards is that if they fit all the qualifications that you laid out (college grad, has been active for a long period of time, etc.) is that a person will be called to be a High Priest by his late 40s. That is just what I have seen. I have rarely seen a 50+ year old that is fully active and has been with no problems in the church for a long period of time still be an elder.
No doubt it still happens, but I think the church moves to the High Priest group... |

J. Golden Kimball seemed to indicate that there were other factors in play as well. Look THAT up.
