I like where the she bear kills the kids for making fun of the bald prophet. That'll teach them. Now if I could get a bear to do that to the mkiscreants that walk on my grass, I would truly be happy.

In an effort to swing this thread to a more serious tone (usually not my style, I know), my favorite OT moment/story is in Judges.

The story wherein Gideon exercises faith and uses clever strategy and trickery to slay the Midianites with a vastly outnumbered army.

Not sure if it is tops, but it certainly ranks high for me.

If any of you are unfamiliar, check out Judges 6. It is a great story.

Mine was serious, but no one was interested. Same with you, apparently. It's typical here.

My first post was too. I hate how everybody also tries to make light of sacred stuff here.

I liked both of your selections, especially Psalms 22.

Waah, waah. Look, SOoner starts the thread with a seed spilling and you expect everyone to get into the mood of disturbed nights and spiritual anguish? I like your selections, but you're the one that chose to be srious in a thread started in this manner.

Start your own thread and then complain.

Like many of the NT writers, I hold the Psalms in high regard. Here's Psalm 87 in the NAB, which Paul probably alludes to in Galatians 4:

The LORD loves the city founded on holy mountains,
Loves the gates of Zion more than any dwelling in Jacob.
Glorious things are said of you, O city of God!
From Babylon and Egypt I count those who acknowledge the LORD.
Philistia, Ethiopia, Tyre, of them it can be said: "This one was born there."
But of Zion it must be said: "They all were born here."
The Most High confirms this; the Lord notes in the register of the peoples: "This one was born here."
So all sing in their festive dance: "Within you is my true home."

I understand that the Hebrew word translated as "Egypt" in this psalm is "Rahab," which is the name of a sea monster.
