Default Only the Dems are willing to squeeze Saudi Arabia

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/money/mai.../bcnoil115.xml

We sell them weapons, while they don't sell us oil. Does that make sense?

Democrats don't think so. Bush and GOP does.

He is. Bush oppposes any measure designed to put pressure on the Saudis. Sorry if I wasn't clear.

But he asked the Saudis to increase production and they refused. Doesn't sound buddy-buddy to me.

He has to do that politcally. But he asks with his hand out, not with a stick.

The Saudis are despots. They blew up the twin towers. They are the bed of radicalism. And we are selling them weapons while they extort money from us?

Bush is evil.

Wait, the Saudis blew up the twin towers? Then why are we in Iraq? When did all of this happen? Why didnt we invade Saudi Arabia?

Because we are "allies", it doesn't matter that almost all of the hijackers were Saudis.

I see.....I suppose the next thing you are going to tell me is that we are really dependent on Saudi oil reserves, so attacking them would have really put a wrinkle in our relationship, despite the fact that almost all the 9/11 terrorist were Saudi and that Saudi oil money plays a huge part in bankrolling terrorist activities in the Middle East.

Should we sell arms and weapons to the Saudis?

I suppose the reason that people would state is that they are a counterbalance to Iran.

Haven't we gone down this road before, arming our enemies, only to find that they are later used against us?
