JohnnyLingo has a little shameless behaviour in the past
Default Halo, Counterstrike, etc.

So I've played some Halo and Counterstrike in my day. Not enough that I'm any good online or anything, but some.

What's the deal with the constant jumping? I realize it's way harder to get sniped if your head is bobbing up and down, but the lack of realism kind of bugs me.

Though it is impressive that players who do this can keep their own gun sights level while jumping like a jackrabbit.

Just comes with the territory I suppose. Harder for your opponent to aim at you when they have to move their target reticle around 2 axis (sp?) rather than just one.

If you have a 360, you should give Gears of War a try. There is no jumping and I find the multiplayer to be much more intense than Halo 2. You really start to get afraid of dying in that game, where as in Halo 2, I would just charge into any type of gun fight guns blazing, knowing I would die and respawn 5 seconds later. Staying alive is much more important in Gears of War. Great game.

That is one of the reasons I stopped playing Halo. Although the jumping is strategically sound, it just makes the gameplay feel so silly and dorky. Yes, it's harder to hit a guy when he's jumping but it just seems stupid when everyone is jumping around like crickets all over the terrain.

I'm not a big gamer but it seemed to me like the jumping strategy first became popular in Half-life and then spread from there (I believe Counterstrike used the same engine from Valve that Half-life used?).

I've never tried Gears of War - but if there is no jumping them maybe I'll get back into online FPS games.

People in counterstrike don't jump like that.

Now Unreal Tournament, they do.

I think the best FPS players play counterstrike.

Whats amazing to me is when guys will jump off of platforms in Halo and be able to snipe you while they are jumping that is unbelievable.
