I didn't comment yesterday because I wanted to see the stage for myself first.

What an amazing 2 stages!!! Yesterday, Landis looks like death warmed over. Today, a man on a mission who takes the stage by 5:42!!! I can't wait to watch it tonight to see how it developed.

I felt for Landis yesterday, mainly because I've felt how he looked on several occasions myself. I can possibly buy into the heatstroke/heat exhaustion theory. I initially thought he simply ran out of fuel, but I would have thought that would take more than a day to recover from.

Reagrding yesterdays stage, I was very impressed with the way Pereira rode. He was very calm the entire time and deftly covered all major attacks, aside from Sastres incredible acceleration. Leipheimer showed some guts and impressed me on his attack. I just wish he could have finished it off and put some time into his deficit.

One thing that impressed me most yesterday was Popyvych's descending abilities. That first major descent he put something like 2 1/2 minutes into the chase group. I didn't realize that was possible to distance yourself that much in such a short time. He eventually was gobbled up by the pack, but it was still fun to watch the seconds tick upward on the chase clock.
