Default We're in!

tell me you weren't sweating there at the end.

Good for these guys. Now they need to make some noise. Win two games and play Baylor.

It's entirely on them to perform and get this done.

I'm happy. They turned things around on the season just in time and found a way to get in. I watched a lot of basketball last week to see how the other bubble teams were doing. I know it was just one game, but other than Texas A&M, Mississippi looked like the worst of all the bubble teams I watched in their loss to S. Carolina, IMO. That doesn't mean they can't play better, but they didn't finish the season well.

actually I wasn't as nervous as I should have been because the info about BYU getting into a play-in game on Tuesday was leaked earlier on Sunday. It was a rumor that seemed to have some legit backing. I also knew that the teams that have to play on Tuesday are always informed early so they can get started on travel preparations since they have to be on the plane for Dayton Monday morning. Still, when I saw certain teams getting favorable seedings that I thought were in danger of not making it, it didn't look good on the surface. But when that very last 6/11 matchup came up I was pretty sure BYU would be in it because it fit what I'd been reading.

I haven't seen Ole Miss play. I watch virtually no college basketball except for BYU.

So I never feel confident making predictions.

They looked great in their battle against Kentucky, but that is the only game I saw them. They are small and have a lot of pressure from smallish guards. BYU could lose or blow them out. We need some production from either Winder or Halford to increase our chances of victory.

Unless Winder is healed from his bad wheel, he is going to be useless.

According to media reports, Winder and Halford both practiced yesterday and looked like they weren't bothered by the injuries.

last ten games Mississippi has allowed opponents to shoot 38% from three. BYU has allowed 32%. They like to press but that usually backfires against us because it speeds up the game and creates a transition game that is just how BYU wants to play. Their defense is ranked #122 on Kenpom which adjusts the rankings for pace of game and SOS. No team ranked that low on D has beaten us this year. We really need to win this one.
