Default Hot Fuzz was very funny...

The wife and I went out this weekend and caught 'Hot Fuzz' (http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/hot_fuzz/). It was very funny.

For those that are not familiar with the stars of the show, they are british actors Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. Their first real big hit was 'Shaun of the Dead' which, if you haven't seen it, is truly brilliant.

Anyway, this latest offering is spoof (not really a fair description because it is not a slap stick, but a kind of satire of action buddy flicks) of a top cop that is transferred to a country village outside of London where he is teamed up with a terrible cop and it goes thru how they are trying to solve some murders. Very funny, especially the final 45 minutes where there is great action, some gore (the murders are brutal and play to the type of killings that we see on Bad Boys and other cop movies...but it is all done lightheartedly).

To show the kind of humor, there may have been a murder and the cop gets a phone call in the middle of the night from another officer...you only hear one side of the conversation, but the cop answers the phone, thinks for a minute and then he says "Decaffeinated?" It then cuts to the crime scene of two decapitated heads (he obviously heard wrong).

Not quite as top notch as 'Shaun of the Dead', but it is still very entertaining and one of the better flicks that I have seen over the past 6 months. It would help if you like British humor.

I finally saw Hot Fuzz last night and it was very funny. If you like British humor, or funny in general, try this one.

(Now I feel like ute4ever bumping a year-old thread.)

I have to say Parrot, I am disappointed that it took you over a year to see it. I expected more from you.

If it helps you any, I haven't seen it yet. Don't know if I ever will.
