Beck is a solid QB. He'll have a good season again.

Just to be clear though....I do NOT think he'll get the 50 next season. I think 35 would be a very good season and 40 would be awesome. 50 is highly unlikely. |

The reason I think this way? The offense can help the defense greatly by pounding the ball and keeping them off the field. If they are doing this effectively Beck won't need to throw more than 25 for BYU to be a very good team this year... I think if he needs to air it out BYU will be in trouble.... |

Who was the last BYU QB to throw for 30 TDs in a season?

Doman had 33 in 2001.
Sark had 33 in 1996. Detmer had 35 in 1991. Detmer had 40 in 1990. Detmer had 32 in 1989. Bosco had 30 in 1985. Bosco had 33 in 1984. Young had 33 in 1983. McMahon had 30 in 1981. McMahon had 47 in 1980. That's as far back as I went. If you ask me, I'd have Beck throw 33 TDs and I'd say we'd be in for something special if the trend continues. 1983, 1984, 1996 and 2001 are easily 4 of the top BYU teams ever... each year the starting QB threw 33 TDs. |

ah, we will be fine, if we stay healthy. A fleet of LBs will always help an inexperience DL get some confidence.
