My avatar is an example of a Maori moko. The old style involves a stone chisel cutting the skin open and the pigment being put into the open wound. The tatoo would not only be seen, it could also be felt. It had texture.

My mom did the same. When one of my nephews got a tatoo after his 18th birthday, my mom pointed out that "your body is a temple. Why defile it with something like that?", my nephew responded:

For the most part, this poster is in complete agreement that tatoos are butt-ugly and they spell trailer trash.

However, I do appreciate, even if I do not like, Polynesian tattoos for a bygone era.

OTH, if you see a cute gal at the gym who often goes commando style, with a rose above the butt cheeks, doesn't every guy say, "well I wouldn't take her home to mamma, but I bet she doesn't hate sex." IOW, more carnally, you think, "yeah I'd take her out on a date."

There is nothing quite as fortuituous as a hot chick with low self-esteem and bad judgment. Personally, I'm a big fan of women with tatoos.

My cousin used the same thing when he got his tatoos, except after the your body is a temple speech, he said, the temple has its walls painted doesnt it?
