Default What's more important, the candidate or the platform/policies?

What is more important to you. A candidate's philosophies, party platform, etc. or how qualified / prepared / whatever you think that candidate is for the job?

For most things, I'd go with the former. A senator, representative, etc. don't have the ability to REALLY screw things up.

But for POTUS I feel the opposite. What they have done, preparation, executive experience, etc. are much more important to me than policies simply because they wield so much power.

Am I unique?

You are very unique FM. You're special, indeed.

To your question. It's the whole package. Who has the best platform and governing philosopy combined with their life experiences. I have a difficult time saying that one is more important than the other.

I will say this. My view has become much more skewed towards the man over the last 8 years, thanks to GWB.

Don't apologize mister, it's a sign of weakness.

Platform/philosophy here.
