Default Good Luck Ewth8tr!

Seems like only yesterday he was asking me for shoe advice, and now he's running his first half marathon. They grow up so fast!

Good luck with the Provo River 1/2 tomorrow!

FWIW...here's my result from last year. My 1/2 marathon PR:

Place Bib Name City State Age Time Mile Pace
36 590 Shane B Riverton UT 34 01:44:35 07:59

Having just run that pace in a 4 miler I have to say I'm impressed Shane. I was wanting to die at that pace in the 4th mile, and can't imagine carrying it on for 9 more. Quite frankly, I couldn't have.

Thanks...I was proud of that race. One of my big goals, a 1:45 half, was achieved that day. Of course, it helped that a good part of the course is downhill.

My sister-in-law qualified for the Boston Marathon during her first marathon and won a cash prize.

She's the least likely athlete ever. I'd never seen her do anything remotely physical/athletic.

So come on guys, buck up!

Here are her results:

Time: 3:30:15
Pace: 08:01

And my mom recently did a half-marathon, at the age of 64:

2:07:24

She recently started running in the past two years.

Your SIL should be proud, that's an amazing result for a first marathon. I routinely get my butt kicked by ladies, and it doesn't bother me a bit. There's a girl that runs on the parkway I run on every Saturday, and she passes me at about the same place every week.

I figure every 2-3 hour run I will get passed by 2-3 people, and I'll pass 20-25. That's good enough for me.

hey you guys would all destroy me. I wouldn't even be able to finish. The longest I have ever run in my life is 3 miles or so.

Thanks! I'm still not very fast, so I would be excited if I match Mike's Mom's pace

Well, I am sore as hell and I was having some trouble with my right hamstring cramping up a little, but I finished in 2:14:10. Not too bad considering I had never even run a continuous mile in my life until last April (I'm 27)

Congrats h8r, I'm jealous of you young guys and how you can hold up to the mileage. It seems I'm constantly packed in ice.
