Default I about killed my dog today

I decided to take him on my run this morning and we did 6 miles together. Dogs are hilarious because they have no ability to pace themselves. He ran the first mile at top speed, darting off the path frequently to mark his territory and chase birds etc... Around mile 3 those side trips ceased but he still led out and seemed to have energy. The last 3 miles were him dropping further and further back until in the last mile he basically walked and I had to lift him into the back of the truck. He hasn't moved from his bed in the garage since we got home as far as I know. He's going to be sore.
