Yes, and it commemorates such a wonderful episode in state history. When the Gringo settlers made up a story of oppression and attacked their peaceful, unsuspecting Mexican neighbors. The Bear Flag Revolt.

The Mexicans were getting payback for all the crap they pulled to get their flag put together.

Go ask snakes how they feel about the Mexican flag. My guess is that they won't be that stoked.

Hey, I lived in California and I loved it, so I'm not bagging on the state, but...

Flags with pictures on them are incredibly lame. Simple is always better. And BTW, my 7 y.o. can and has drawn a better bear.
