Marsupial, would you please eat something. I'm very worried about your avatar's health. With you being pregnant, I kinda think you should put on a bit more weight.

I went to Santa Barbara a few years back, drove up PCH, went to the beach, toured Hearst Castle while we were up that way. What else do people do there?
Catalina is really fun, just depends on what you like to do. Do you like boating, sailing, scuba, or snorkel? Do you like golf? You can even hunt wild boars on Catalina.

What is there to do in Laguna Niguel? It is a neighborhood. Why not go to Aliso Viejo while you are at it?

Crystal Cove is fun and very beautiful. They have filmed a few Mercedes commercials there at the Cliffs, and also below on the sand at Crystal Point. Not sure if it is someplace to go spend your birthday.

You can go horseback riding in Long Valley if that suits your fancy. A fun way to spend your day with someone. My wife and I have done this before and it was cool.

If you want a bunch of eclectic ideas, go to http://theguide.latimes.com/ and click on July 11 or July 12. there are literally hundreds of interesting things to go check out and do in LA/OC. (Albert Hammond Jr playing at Spaceland being one of them).

have you seen wicked? that is always fun to go see.

lots of choices.

Also, BDB, one of my favorite websites

http://www.dailycandy.com/los_angeles/

It is actually a great resource for all CGers as they travel around the country to the bigger cities. Lots of cool info on sample sales, concerts, new restaurants, etc. It used to be a hispters guide to the local universe. Not so much now, but still very solid.

Shopping in foreign countries is fun, and the swapmeet in Hawaii was pretty great, but in general shopping isn't really my thing.

If you were real outdoorsie, you could enjoy Catalina, but depending upon which part you travel to, you may or may not enjoy it. I view you, rightly or wrongly, a bit more citified than countrified.

For me, unless I'm going a long way for an exotic place, the locale doesn't really matter, it's the company I keep. With a friend heading to the car dealership can be a blast, or checking out new bikes can be fantastic. Conversely, with the wrong person, almost anything can be miserable.

Yes, because I have time restrictions, and I've done a lot of things around here, so I'm a little short on ideas for new things to do.

I understand, though I've never been there, that there's an alpine slide at Big Bear. Don't know if it's worth going all the way there for, but it's something different.

I have also heard that there are caves down by La Jolla at the beach. Don't know if they're worth a trip, but that could be kind of fun.
