BTW...I do like the Ironman watches, but I HATE my Indiglo Ironman--it's one of those where the digits light up orange instead of the backlight. It was cool at first, but it has a velcro band that you can't replace separately. Now the velcro band comes undone all the time.

You are a doctor, so 5000 dollar watches are a dime a dozen. I know, I've never seen so many Rolexes and Patek Philipe's in my life until I started hanging around physicians.

I think automatic mechanical watches are cooler, and you could have gotten one for what you probably paid. But certainly they are not what every person prefers.

I don't know what those are. I just found this one today on clearance and I thought it was pretty cool.

A mechanical watch is a regular watch that isn't digital. It is wound by a spring and has gears and such. Automatic would mean that there is no need to wind it.
