DDD maybe you will see Ryan Sheckler at the San Clemente park. During his MTV show he seems to skate their a lot.

Fine.
I'm right there with you TD. I'm about 6'2", so it's more embarrassing for me.

I certainly hope you can. It would be embarrassing if you couldn't.

I can ollie still. I can also still do a kickflip and pop shove it. I was close on a varial flip last time I tried. Never could 360 flip. I bust my board out every now and then.

My goal is to keep at it long enough so one day when my kids start skating I can be the cool dad and borrow a board from one of them and bust a few tricks on it and then walk into the house without looking back while they're in awe and their friends are telling my kids how cool their dad is.

Well, at 5'6" it appears that I am the shortest one on the board.

However, I'd like to note that I am still more than two inches taller than average for a woman. (I looked it up. Average woman in the U.S. is 5'3.8")

You can do a kick flip at 300 pounds? Seriously?

That is impressive at any weight, but at 300, that means you are pretty flexible. You have to be able to squat low, jump as high as possible, kick your leg straight out, and land it all within a matter of a seconds?

If you dont nail it exactly on your bolts, you are looking at a snapped deck.

I saw Ryan Sheckler skate at the Open in HB last summer. that kid is amazing. he did a cool trick called a Beni-Hana finger flip. Would have been cool to catch him when he was around 8 or 9.

We have gone to Etnies in Lake Forest a few times for YM activity. in fact, we are going to the San Clemente park in 2 weeks as a ward YM. there are also 2 large Vans parks that are amazing. It costs about $20 to session, but very worth it. Lots of public parks for free, too.

If you can regularly do kickflips, then you are better than me, no doubt. My ollie comes and goes. A shuv-it is pretty easy. A pop shuv it.....that's another story. I can do basic stuff like manuals, ollies, etc..

I dont know why I cant land a kickflip (other than that I suck). Everytime I try, I kick the board out too far and it just goes flying away. I have never been able to get the feel of it. I will blame it on my being goofy, even though that is not really relevant.

I ollied over a paint can in our garage last weekend. I felt pretty cool.
I still skate a bit as well. No kickflips for me but I can nolly heel flip and toe flip. For some reason I can flip off the nose but not the tail. Ollies and varials are still doable. I can also still wax a curb and do tail slides and nose slides as well as crooked grinds. My 7 year old is finally asking me to teach him to ollie. I am not really a good skater, nor a good teacher but we are working on the mechanics of an ollie. :-)

Oh and I am 6'2" and can't dunk anymore (too out of shape), but I did dunk in several HS games :-).

I am 265 or so now. My kickflip comes and goes. Sometimes I can nail it with ease. Other times it's like you say, I kick the board out too far. I have this problem with any sort of heelflip attempt. I can't do that. I also can't ride switch at all. Which is why I could never do a big spin or anything without sliding out.

I've snapped a deck once. Busting an ollie down a 3 stair set.

Nope. I've got you by an inch. I'm glad to hear I'm taller than average, though I find that hard to believe.

Archaea said I seemed taller online. I thought that was pretty funny. I guess it's the font.
